State of the Twittersphere!

Hubspot.com has sent out their “State of the Twittersphere” report and it has some very interesting insights.

What’s the twitter state of affairs according to this report? Twitter’s growth is slower. However, the average user has more followers and is engaging more. So while growth has decreased, activity has increased. Along with more engagement, twitter user accounts have become better implemented. This was realized by users completing their bios, linking to a website and adding locations on their accounts.

Another interesting fact was that international usage has increased; 40% of the top 20 twitter locations in January 2010 are outside of North America. Compare that to July of 2009 when only 15% of the top twitter locations were outside of North America. … it’s spreading globally.

Wondering the best time to tweet those tweets?? Hubspot indicates the hours between 10-11 pm is the most active hour on Twitter, accounting for 4.8% of the tweets in an average day. Thursday and Friday are the most active days on twitter and account for 16% of total twitter tweets.

Doesn’t seem like twitter is going the way of the Do-Do does it.
