Generation X and Y

Attracting Generation X and Y:

I recently sent out a question on LinkedIn about attracting Generation x and Y to your service, product and website.  The response was interesting.  Some people referred me to experts, some people had great answers!  The one that was most troubling was the gentlemen who replied that Generation x and y were not old enough yet to run businesses that his company caters too, and when they were old enough, they would think the same way as the current generations do.   I was shocked at his answer.  This person was a territory manager for large construction equipment.  

While this gentleman may feel that his trade will remain the same … what he is missing is how these generations will view, judge and relate to those that are not keeping up wity our Gen X and Y culture.  Think about it…. do you want to be the sales person not “connecting” to his client.  Remember, all your customers, have customers and THEY will have to relate, which could leave you an outsider if you consider this same thought process.

Get into the game, get out there… dare to be different and connect with Gen x and Y!
